The Pivot Collection

The first impression, perfected.

A pivot door is designed to make an impression long before it is opened. Defined by generous proportions, effortless movement and refined detailing, it creates an architectural entrance unlike any conventional front door. Available in both steel and aluminium, every design combines striking aesthetics with security-rated construction engineered into the very fabric of the door.

The concealed pivot system allows larger, heavier doors to open with remarkable balance and ease, making it the ideal choice for expansive entrances and contemporary architecture. Every project begins with a detailed survey of your opening, allowing us to specify the exact dimensions and structural requirements before manufacturing begins.

Every pivot door is made to measure for your home, professionally surveyed and installed by our own experienced specialists across London and the Home Counties. From the first consultation through to the final installation, one dedicated team manages every detail, delivering an exceptional entrance with complete confidence.

Security construction

Security-rated construction. Built and tested for forced entry.

A pivot door from us is as secure as our steel and aluminium front doors, because it is built the same way. Scale is not a weakness: a larger door calls for a heavier frame and more locking points, not fewer, so it holds the line across the full perimeter. The pivot mechanism sits concealed and tamper-resistant, the multi-point lock engages top, side and base together, and anti-drill, anti-pick cylinders are specified at the survey. Steel pivots are built and tested to SR3 under LPS 1175, the independently tested UK security standard; aluminium pivots to RC3, with RC4 where the specification calls for it. Where the risk warrants more, bullet and blast resistant builds are available, with PAS 24 and Secured by Design configurations on request.

Good to know

Pivot doors, asked and answered.

What is a pivot front door?

A pivot front door hangs on a pivot set in from the edge of the door, top and bottom, instead of on side hinges. That lets it be built much larger and heavier while still opening with a light, balanced push. It is the entrance style you see on architecturally ambitious modern homes, and increasingly on renovations where the front door needs presence.

Are pivot doors secure?

Yes. A steel pivot door is built and tested to SR3 and an aluminium one to RC3, both independently tested security ratings, with multi-point locking engaging top, side and base and an anti-pick cylinder as standard. The pivot mechanism itself is concealed and tamper-resistant. A larger door is built on a heavier frame, not a lighter one, so scale does not create a weak point.

Can pivot doors be security rated?

Yes. Our pivot doors are built and tested to a security rating: SR3 for steel under LPS 1175, and RC3 for aluminium under BS EN 1627, both independently verified. PAS 24 and Secured by Design configurations are available on request. The rating is a laboratory test result on the whole doorset, not a marketing description.

How large can a pivot door be?

Pivot doors can be built substantially larger than a standard hinged front door, because the weight transfers through a floor and head pivot rather than side hinges. That frees up both width and height in a way a hinged door cannot match. We survey the opening, confirm the structural requirements and specify the exact size before the build, so we can tell you what is possible for your home at the free survey.

Are pivot doors thermally efficient?

Yes. Our pivot doors are built with an insulated core and, in aluminium, a thermally broken frame, closing on a full perimeter seal, which together give a U-value as low as 0.8 W/m²K. Scale does not cost you warmth, because the insulation and sealing are specified for the larger size. The exact figure for your door is confirmed at the survey.

Can pivot doors be made with side panels?

Yes. Pivot doors are often paired with full-height side panels and glazed sidelights to make the most of a wide opening, all in laminated security glass where specified. The side panels are made and rated as part of the same doorset, so the whole entrance is designed and tested together. We draw the full arrangement for you to approve before anything is built.

How much does a pivot door cost?

Pivot doors sit at the upper end of our range, because of their scale and the engineering in the pivot. The price depends on the size, the material, the glazing and the security configuration you choose, so we give you a written quote after the survey, agreed before any work begins, with the price settled before we start. The quickest way to a real number for your opening is to book a free survey.

Do pivot doors keep draughts out?

They do. A common concern with pivot doors is sealing around the large perimeter, so ours use a full perimeter brush and gasket seal and a weather-rated threshold. Properly made and fitted, a pivot door is as weathertight as any other front door. The survey confirms the threshold treatment for your exact opening.
