Security Doors 'R' Us specifies, supplies and installs certified security doors for homes across London and the UK. We are a consultative specialist, not an online shop: a surveyor visits the property, the door is made to measure for the opening and the security need, and our own team fits it. Forty years of experience sit behind the work, in the security trade and in installation.

The business is family-run. Albert Abraham founded it on the principle that security begins with workmanship, and works today alongside his sons Rafi and Nathan. The same team handles a project from first consultation to final installation.

### Steel security doors

The security-led option, also searched as metal front doors, steel front doors, secure metal doors and high security front doors. Galvanised steel leaf and frame powder-coated in any RAL, rock-wool insulated security-rated core, eleven locking points across all four directions, hinge-side dog bolts, a rebated threshold engineered against pry-bar attack, and P5A or P6B laminated security glazing where glass is specified. ### Aluminium front doors

Slim sightlines and a contemporary finish for homes leading on design as well as security. Thermally broken aluminium frame in any RAL with a premium powder coating, insulated core, multi-point locking at top, side and base, a double perimeter seal behind the thermal break, and laminated security glass where specified. ### Pivot front doors

Architectural entrances at scale, in steel or aluminium, built the same way as the hinged range. Concealed tamper-resistant pivot mechanism, multi-point locking engaging top, side and base together, and anti-drill, anti-pick cylinders specified at survey. A larger door takes a heavier frame and more locking points, not fewer. Steel pivots to SR3 under LPS 1175; aluminium to RC3, with RC4 where specified. ### Bespoke and made-to-measure doors

We do not supply composite doors. Buyers comparing composite against steel are pointed to the steel range, which gives certified security without losing the look.

## Locking and access

Locking is specified with the door build, not added afterwards, because security is the door, frame, lock and installation working as one assembly. Mechanical multipoint locking engaging the frame at top, hinge side, latch side and base; biometric fingerprint entry recessed into the doorset; smart locking and keypad entry where preferred; anti-drill, anti-pick cylinders and hinge protection matched to the certified rating of the door. ## Certifications and standards

Security is proven by independent standards, not by adjectives.

- Secured by Design: the UK police initiative certifying products tested to the physical security standards police recommend for homes. Accredited products are independently tested by a UKAS-accredited test house and reviewed by Police Crime Prevention Initiatives, the organisation running the scheme. Many insurers require a recognised police-approved standard.
- PAS 24: the enhanced-security standard for doorsets, testing door, frame, hardware and glazing as one unit.
- LPS 1175: a graded standard rating how long a door resists a determined attack with defined tool kits. Our steel doors are built and tested to SR3, with SR4 available.
- RC3 and RC4: the resistance classes applied to our aluminium and pivot doors.

## Thermal performance

A front door loses more heat than a window of the same size. The U-value measures it, and lower is better: an uninsulated timber door sits near 3.0 W/m²K, the Part L threshold for a replacement door is 1.8, and a high-performance door reaches 0.8 or below. Our steel doors reach 0.8 W/m²K or better and our aluminium up to 0.8. A thermal break is structural, not a finish: in aluminium a reinforced polyamide section bonded into the extrusion, in steel a high-density insulated core with a double perimeter seal. ## Finishes and customisation

Every door is made to measure, so the specification is set with you at survey rather than picked from a catalogue.

- Colour: any RAL, in a premium powder coating on both steel and aluminium.
- Glazing: bespoke glazing, full-height sidelights and larger glazed panels, with laminated security glass where specified.
- Detailing: decorative mouldings and premium finishes on steel; clean contemporary detailing on aluminium.
- Hardware: knockers, pulls, letterplates and rosettes in polished brass, antique brass, satin chrome, polished chrome and other premium finishes.
- Access: mechanical, biometric fingerprint, smart or keypad entry, specified to match the door's security rating.

1. Free site survey. We measure the opening and talk through the security need and the look you want.
2. Written quote. A fixed quotation against your specification, with no obligation.
3. Specification and order. The door is specified to the property and manufactured to that specification.
4. Installation. Our own team fits it. A door is only as secure as its fit.
5. Aftercare. Installations are guaranteed for up to 10 years.

## Common questions

- Is a steel door more secure than a composite door? For certified security, steel is the stronger choice. What matters most is the tested standard the doorset meets and the quality of the installation.
- Which standards do insurers care about? Secured by Design, PAS 24 and LPS 1175. There is no single branded "insurance approved" door.
- What do SR and RC ratings mean? SR comes from LPS 1175 and grades how long a door resists attack with defined tool kits; RC is the equivalent resistance class used for our aluminium and pivot doors.
- Do you sell doors online? No. Every door is surveyed, specified and fitted. Enquiries start with a free survey.
- Do you manufacture your own doors? Doors are manufactured to our specification for each property by specialist manufacturing partners. We survey, specify, install and stand behind the door.
- What is a thermal break, and does a steel door have one? In aluminium it is a polyamide section inside the frame; steel achieves the same result with an insulated core and double perimeter seal.
- How long does a door take? Every door is made to measure after survey, so lead time is confirmed with the written quote.
- Do you cover my area? London and the Home Counties as standard, with national projects on request.
- Is there a guarantee? Installations are guaranteed for up to 10 years.
- Can I choose the colour and hardware? Yes. Any RAL colour, with glazing, finishes, handles and hardware specified with you at survey.
